2016 Washington DC Annual Gala honoring Clayton M. Christensen 03-24-2016
The BYUMS Washington DC chapter is pleased to announce Clayton M. Christensen, Harvard Business School professor and best-selling author, will be the guest of honor at the annual gala dinner on April 23, 2015. He will receive the chapter’s Distinguished Business Leader Award and will be the keynote speaker for the evening.
Dr. Christensen is the best-selling author of eleven books and several hundred articles, including the New York Times best-selling How Will You Measure Your Life? The Economist magazine named his 1997 book, The Innovator’s Dilemma, as one of the six most important books about business ever written. A biannual poll of thousands of executives, consultants and business school professors in 2011 and again in 2013 named Christensen as the most influential business thinker in the world. He also received the 2015 Edison Achievement Award for his significant and lasting contributions to innovation.
We expect a capacity crowd for the event, which traditionally attracts hundreds of BYU alumni, community members and friends. This year’s gala will take place at the Crystal Gateway Marriott. Free parking and Metro are available nearby. The networking reception will begin at 6pm, followed by dinner at 7pm. Tickets are now available at dc.byums.org for $70 per person on a first-come, first-served basis and are expected to sell quickly. Proceeds from the event will go to the BYU Management Society Washington DC Chapter’s scholarship fund benefitting area students attending Brigham Young University, and to support chapter events throughout the year.
Individuals and organizations interested in purchasing sponsor tables can contact Jennifer Jensen, chapter treasurer, at email@example.com.
We hope you will join us, invite your friends and spread the word about this exciting event.
